Barrier-Free Farmhouse

A Home for Wheelchair Accessibility

A spacious and comfortable abode that serves the needs of all residents

Description:

JMA undertook a complete demolition and re-build of a family home to accommodate full wheelchair accessibility. The new home sits on a half acre lot and includes an elevator, indoor swimming pool, a Snoezelen room, sunny loft, an open concept living space and a gourmet kitchen.

Our Role:

Design, assistance with approvals, and permit documentation.

Achievements:

Designed an open and graceful house that incorporates the particular requirements for wheelchair use and re-habilitation spaces. Ensured a seamless transition with exterior areas, responding to the opportunities offered by the sloped site. We also facilitated the municipal approvals process by assisting efficiently with documentation, advice and representation.
